Books on Flower Essence Therapy

Flower Essence Repertory

by Patricia Kaminski, Richard Katz

Currently out of print, you can still find used copies via Amazon. This is one of most well-used books on my shelf. The cover has fallen off, the pages are dog-eared —I need another copy myself! A great reference book. In addition to providing a complete overview of flower essence theory and practice and a comprehensive listing of the most commonly available North American and Bach flower essences, this book provides a way for choosing essences using a wide assortment of treatment categories. Highly recommended!

Bach Flower Remedies:

Form & Function

by Julian Barnard

I have the hardcover version of this book and love it! Julian Barnard has devoted his life to studying the Bach Flower Remedies. He describes in this book how he thinks Bach made his discoveries and helps the reader understand the qualities of each plant in its natural environment. It's really fascinating to see how the plants embody the medicinal qualities they impart. I haven't read a book that explains it better.

The Bach Flower Remedies

by Edward Bach

Read about the Bach Flower Remedies in the words of the person who created them. I must admit that until I read this book, I didn't quite understand what Flower Essence Therapy was all about. Today's take on the subject is just so "New Age" while Bach's approach was really just the basic stuff of  treating yourself and other people with love and respect with all the moral overtones you would expect a man of his time and temperament to project. It may push a few 21st century buttons when he talks about "faults" and "virtues" but it's good stuff anyway.

The Encyclopedia of Bach Flower Therapy

by Mechthild Scheffer

I love having beautiful photographs of the flowers I'm working with and great down-to-earth descriptions and examples of how to use them. Nice book—I wish there was an equivalent resource for the other flower essences available today.

Floral Acupuncture

by Deborah Craydon, Warren Bellows

What’s new in Flower Essence Therapy? This is it. Topical use in conjunction with acupuncture points. Interesting stuff.
